Despite rumours and discovered patents over the past few months, Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will not block the use of second-hand games.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida stated that “used games can play on the PlayStation 4”.
When asked whether he agreed that there was a kind of moral contract between the consumer and the company selling the product that you as the customer retain some of that value and you can pass it on he said, “”Yes. That’s the general expectation by consumers. They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that’s my expectation.”
This will come as good news to many who use pre-owned game sales to fund future purchases.
