It’s the news millions were waiting for, Grand Theft Auto V has been dated… but it’s a bit later than we were expecting.

Originally scheduled to release around April/May, Rockstar has confirmed that the hotly anticipated title is set for release on September 17 on PlayStation and Xbox 360.

“Grand Theft Auto V continues to push the series forward in new ways; Rockstar North are creating our deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We are very excited for people to learn more about the game in the coming months.”

Having been pushed back from the previously planned date, the developer admitted it was to allow for “additional development time”.

We recently revealed GTA V was our second most anticipated game of 2013 and it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer than first planned.
