Sony have revealed new details for their hugely anticipated kart-racer LittleBigPlanet Karting via an interview design director William Ho.
Whilst the latest game in the acclaimed LittleBigPlanet franchise is a kart-racer at heart, United Front Games have made clear attempts to weave objects from the already established LBP universe in order to create a totally unique game.
The core ‘Play. Create. Share’ theme remains in Sackboy’s latest outing, with LittleBigPlanet karting featuring a track-editor that allows players to make their own tracks. Unlike United Front’s last effort ModNation Racers, players will be able to take the game into completely new directions with the detailed level editor, leaving the game with massive potential in terms what user-generated content can bring to the game.
Everything from score bubbles, the grappling hook and the game’s art-stlye are ever-present in the gameplay footage featured in the video. The success of the previous games are very much due to the strong communities that have been built behind them, and so United Front will hope their first ‘LittleBigPlanet’ title will be able to mimic the success of the installments developed by Media Molecule.
LittleBigPlanet Karting will be available exclusively on Playstation 3 later this year. In the mean time, check of the full interview below.
