Capcom has confirmed they have brought forward the release of Resident Evil 6 from November 20 to October 2.
Alongside the announcement, the publisher released a new video showcasing the game’s characters and story.
The change in release means that it will now release before a lot of the big hitter this holiday season, including Assassin’s Creed III, Medal of Honor, BioShock Infinite and most likely the next iteration in the Call of Duty franchise,.

This is fascinating stuff. Is RE6 about to return us to what most people believe to be the true colours (or lack thereof) with the franchise? As much as I enjoyed Resident Evil 4 I still believe ’5′ was a misstep no matter what.
Sure, I don’t want high-quality rendered backgrounds like the first couple of outings but the sinister environment really did work best for me (and hopefully the franchise).
