Assassin’s Creed III To Feature More Desmond Than Ever

Ubisoft announced today that the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed title, which is due out this coming October, will have an even greater emphasis on Desmond’s story than in past titles.

Assassin’s Creed III’s lead writer, Matt Turner, told CVG: “All I can say about Desmond’s story is you’re going to experience more Desmond than you’ve ever had before”.

The story of the modern-day assassins hasn’t played a massive part on previous Assassins Creed games, with the majority of game-time being spent with Altair (Assassin’s Creed) and Ezio Auditore (Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood & Revelations). In fact, with missions controlling Desmond being entirely optional in last year’s game Assassins Creed: Revelations, it appeared that Ubisoft were veering away from his story line all-together.

Despite the little focus on the Nolan North voiced modern-day assassin, his quest to find the ‘Apple of Eden’ has remained an intriguing part of the Assassins Creed universe, so today’s reveal may come as good news to some.

Whatever your opinion, however, Assassin’s Creed III is shaping up to one of the biggest games of 2012. To help pass the time between now and Assassin’s Creed III’s launch, you can check out MediaKick’s preview of the game here.
