A Wild Next Xbox Rumour Appears

By David Howard, Editor-in-Chief and Founder

Oh rumour-mill, back so soon?

Less than a week after the latest suggestions about the next generation came about in the form of “Orbis”, we have a new spattering of rumours – this time from VG247.

The site claims to have heard from “third-parties” that the next entry in the Xbox family will feature a Blu-ray drive - contrary to recent reports, and utilise the constant connection method of DRM similar to Steam.

Additionally, they’re suggesting that it will house a four- or six-core processor, with a single core dedicated to Kinect – which will be built in somehow – and another to the OS.

The highly rumoured ‘holiday 2013′ release is also mentioned, but with Microsoft stating that they’re not revealing anything at this year’s E3 it’ll be interesting to see whether anything actually comes to light…
