Jet Set Radio HD Launches This Summer

By Ryan Martin, Writer

SEGA has revealed when fans of Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio can get their hands on the HD upgrade that was teased last week.

Launching this summer, players will be able to relive the story of Beat and his gang the GGs as they use their artistic ability in graffiti to take back turf in Tokyo-to, ultimately uncovering a sinister plot devised by Tokyo-to’s controlling parties.

“Every time we look at our favourite SEGA classics, the fans never fail to ask about Jet Set Radio,” said Haruki Satomi, SVP of Digital Business at SEGA of America. “The game was unlike anything else when it first came out, and was one of the first games in history to use cel-shading. More importantly, Jet Set Radio is a game that celebrates self-expression, and we’re looking forward to seeing how gamers and artists come together to leave their mark on Tokyo-to.”

In addition to the release window, SEGA has announced a competition for you creative types that want their own pieces of graffiti in the game. Prizes for the contest include an Etón Rukus Solar sound system, Jet Set Radio hoodie, Jet Set Radio beverage shaker and two copies of the game. There will be a total of 18 winners. More details can be found here.

Fans of the title can pull on their magnetically driven inline skates this summer on PlayStation Network. Xbox LIVE and PC.
