The Nintendo Wii hasn’t had many third party successes, but Warren Spector’s Epic Mickey was one of the few high profile titles that delivered on its promise. Perhaps it was inevitable that a sequel was on the cards. Epic Mickey 2 was revealed by Disney news website Stick Kingdom, before shortly being taken down.
Small details about the gameplay were also revealed, including the prospect of co-op gameplay where players take on the role of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney’s first creation – Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. While Mickey retails his magic paint brush and paint thinner tools to drastically change the world around him, Oswald has the power to fly like a helicopter and can use electricity to either fight or befriend foes. Returning features also include the moral choices which will change how the story flows.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Epic Mickey 2 as during the summer of last year an online marketing survey asked a question regarding the final box art, a screen-dump of which emerged on various news websites, with details also first detailing the co-operative prospects. The interesting prospect is that the game will be releasing on various platforms, including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii in time for Christmas 2012. We will bring you more details as they arise.
