At the Halo panel at Comic-Con, 343 Industries franchise development director Frank O’Connor mentioned that Halo 4 has been in development for “a couple of years”.

O’Connor told panel attendees that it was a relief to have announced Halo 4, given that the team at 343 has been working on it in “relative secrecy for a couple of years.”.

Announced a Microsoft’s Press Conference at E3 this year, Halo 4 continues the story of the original trilogy’s Master Chief and marks the beginning of a new Halo Trilogy.

Halo 4 is set to release on Xbox 360 next year.
