After all the nonsense about Gran Turismo 5 and the constant delays it has received, you wouldn’t have thought that Kazunori Yamauchi would want to start development on Gran Turismo 6 until he got its unreleased predecessor out and on retail shelves. While at SEMA in Las Vegas, Kaz was giving an interview to Autoweek. Autoweek asked:

“This year’s winner is going to be in the next Gran Turismo installment, which I’m presuming will be Gran Turismo 6. It’s probably too late for Gran Turismo 5, right?”

To which Kaz replied:

This prompted Autoweek to ask:

“Is development underway on GT6?”

Kaz was even reluctant to confirm:

“It’s not something that we can talk that lightly on. It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It’s just too early to be talking about GT6.”

Yamauchi also tell Autoweek that the reason for the recent delay was “to adjust it so it would be perfect.”
