Sony has announced God of War: Ghost of Sparta for PSP.

This will be the second God of War game on the PSP, and will see Chains of Olympus developer Ready At Dawn return to release the game “later this year”. The game will pick up from the end of God of War III, although it will serve as a prequel of sorts with the Ghost of Sparta tells the story of Kratos’ ascension to power as the God of War.

“I can also tell you from first-hand experience that we are pushing the limits of what PSP can do with state-of-the-art visual technologies, higher resolution environments, and greater depths of scale,” said Eric Levine, SCEA PR. ”We’re also providing over 25 per cent more gameplay, an improved weapon system, and new magical powers – all enjoyed anytime, anywhere.”
